LEAD 495: Leadership E-Portfolio
As I reflect on my time at the University of Washington in Seattle, I am appreciative of the numerous experiences that have helped me develop my talents and grow as a leader. Taking in multiple leadership roles has sharpened my talents and widened my perspectives. This leadership portfolio highlights some of the most influential experiences I’ve had.
View PortfolioI'm Gabriella (Ella) Chuang, a recent Marketing and Human Resources graduate from the Michael G. Foster School of Business and Leadership minor. I am a self-proclaimed "Jack-of-All-Trades, Master of None"— always eager to learn the basics of any new skill that comes my way, from juggling and card magic to top rope climbing and musical instruments. You can often find me chasing after Dubs for a photo op or racing through escape rooms with my family.
View PortfolioMy academic experiences have heightened my awareness of the diverse identities students hold and the need for tailored solutions to address educational inequalities. By listening to and understanding the challenges faced by students from different economic backgrounds, I believe in creating equitable learning environments. Adopting an asset-based approach, I advocate for enhancing existing resources, such as after-school programs, tutors, and technology, to support students' success.
View PortfolioAs a software engineer, I code because I have a passion for problem-solving and enjoy tackling challenging tasks. In the process of breaking down complex problems, designing solutions, and seeing my imagination coded into reality, it is like magic, and I am the wizard writing spellbooks! This dynamic and intellectually stimulating field allows me to continuously learn and grow, which keeps me motivated and engaged.
View PortfolioHi, I am Lily, a business student at the University of Washington with a minor in Leadership. I’m dedicated to pursuing a career that focuses on the ripple effect authentic connections can have on progressive change. It all starts with building meaningful relationships and fostering collaboration.
View PortfolioI am a sister, middle child, only daughter, and international student; my identities shape my approach to what I do, whether it is to stand out from my older sibling's shadow or to be a role model for my younger sibling. My personal identities and values determine how I approach my goals and shape my driving factors and motivation. The personal identities I tie myself to, such as within my family, my circle of friends, physical attributes, at work, and in my education changes and motivates the way I interact with other people, the importance of things in my life, and my priorities.
View PortfolioAt the heart of it, leadership to me is about positively impacting and interacting with others. You may also notice in this portfolio an evolution of my interactions with leadership, growing from hierarchical structures and experiences, to horizontally considering and addressing the needs of those around me, such as how the rigid structures of the Cadet and Explorer programs gave way to learning about and responding to the struggles of our disabled neighbors and refugees half a world away.
