How do leaders inspire change across cultures, organizations, and communities? In this immersive study abroad program, you'll explore leadership beyond the classroom through direct engagement with business, nonprofit, and community leaders in Japan.
Through partnerships with the UW Alumni Association Japan Chapter and local organizations, you'll participate in site visits, connect with professionals across sectors, and gain firsthand insight into leadership, decision-making, and organizational culture in one of the world's most innovative economies.
Learn Alongside Japanese University Students
A hallmark of this program is the opportunity to engage directly with students in Japan.
Through collaborations with Waseda University, Kanda University of International Studies, and Kobe University, you'll take part in discussions, collaborative activities, and cultural exchange alongside Japanese peers. These interactions will help you strengthen intercultural communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills while gaining new perspectives on leadership and social change.
